And you believe it?.... It's a fairy tale.
Yes it is.
I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now ...
Was it in dog years though.
Because they were all aliens from another planet who time traveled back and forth.
It's fiction with very small elements of historical fact.

Hans.
Hans - are you related to my friend Hans Neezenbumpsadaisy?
This is the same book that reckons the world was created in six days.
Question Author
Bradley(the chase) was brilliant when he heard the answer, Imagine giving him the bumps on his birthday!
Of course, if it was a translation error, he could have been "900 moons" old which, at ~13 per year would have made him 69. In a world without medicines, that would be impressively long-lived.

No? I'll get me coat.
Methuselah lived to 969, he was Noah's grandfather. Noah's father, Lamech was 777 when he died and Noah himself was 950. According to the same source, Eve was 940 when she died and Adam was 930. And if you'll believe that, you're fair game for believing anything.

@sunny-dave......There are some stupid arses in my family but I refrain from talking about Neezenbumpsadaisy who are a lot of ***.

@Hypognosis......Are you suggesting that Noah was a Mooney.?

Hans.

just a thought...........as far as I am aware much of the bible was not written around the times the events 'happened' and it has been translated so many times into so many different languages.........chinese whispers comes to mind.

ps... answer to the OP's question...yup, sure is!

It ain't necessarily so, - a lot of it is allegory;

It ain't necessarily so
The things that you're liable
To read in the Bible,
It ain't necessarily so.

Now david was small but oh my
Little david was small but oh my
He fought big goliath
Who lay down and dieth
David was small but oh my.

To get into heaven, don't snap for a second
Live clean forget your faults
I take the gospel whenever it's possible
But with a grain of salt

Oh jonah he lived in a whale
Oh jonah he lived in a whale
He made his home in
That fishes abdomen
Oh jonah he lived in a whale

To get into heaven, don't snap for a seven
Live clean forget your faults
I take gospel whenever it's possible
But with a grain of salt

Methuselah lived 900 years Methuselah lived 900 years
Who calls that livin'
When no gal will give in
To no man what's 900 years

It ain't necessarily so
It ain't necessarily so
The things that you're liable
To read in the Bible,
It ain't necessarily so.

Ain't necessarily so
Ain't necessarily so
Ain't necessarily so

George Gershwin.

/// All over the world there are fantastic ruins and improbable objects which cannot be explained by conventional theories of history, archaeology, and religion. Why, for instance, do the world's sacred books describe Gods who came down from the sky in fiery chariots and always promised to return? How could an ancient Sanskrit text contain an account which could only be of a journey in an alien craft? Compare photographs of American space centre launch sites to the constructions on the plains of Nazca in Peru. In order to understand the mysteries which Erich Von Daniken has cataloqued we must go back to these ancient relics with an open mind. We must call in the resources and experience of sciences other than archaeology. Read Von Daniken's classic work and make up your own mind. ///

von Daniken is a massive fraud. Read the Wikipedia page about him.

AOG, you haven't fallen for the 'Chariot of the gods' moneyspinner have you? There is nothing in it that doesn't have a perfectly reasonable explanation. Except of course the author.
// you haven't fallen for the 'Chariot of the gods' moneyspinner have you?//

It makes a damn sight more sense than the supernatural nonsense of the bible.
