Such shallow, homophobic and bigoted comments. Surly the programme should be judged (no pun intended) on its functional merits first and drama value second.
Having watched Judge Judy over the years I have found much of her legal judgement highly dubious based on more upon her emotion and playing up to the cameras and direction of the producer rather than considered on the evidence measured against the law.
Interestingly, Robert Rinder is not a judge per se but a barrister. This probably goes some way to explaining why his judgements are pragmatic and more measured against the actual evidence in deference to the law.
Judge Rinder is less dramatic, despite any notional limp wrist or fake tan, than Judge Judy but I very much feel it fulfills it's remit and is entertaining in that it instills an interest in legal protocol and social behaviour than the glitzy Hollywood-esque pizzazz of Judge Judy. So, if I may now join in by becoming judgmental and using outlandish stereotypes; Robert errs slightly more towards a BBC Radio 4 You & Yours style of engaging entertainment where the audience is encouraged to think whereas Judy provides banality for a a disengaged TOWIE-loving audience with the attention span of a Shubunkin and a moral compass based on knuckle-dragging Nazi gay-bashing hatred. Just saying like. I thank you.
