Law and Order: CI

I've been watching Criminal Intent on RTE and for a few weeks Deakins was wearing an eye patch.  There didn't seem to be an explanantion for it in the show, when one of the other characters asked him about it he said something like "Long story".  Does anyone know why he was wearing it?

Late in the 2004-2005 season, Sheridan (Deakin) began wearing an eyepatch as he began showing the symptoms of Bell's palsy. This was written into the show, though reportedly this is expected to be only temporary.

Last nights episode was the last in current series though maxd.  Goran is brilliant.

Thanks Octavius, I thought one side of his face looked paralysed but I'd never paid much attention to him before so I wasn't sure.

You'd better believe it Peri, it was a good one wasn't it?  It isn't often you see Goran getting so rattled.

You never see him rattled except with the ongoing case with the blond woman who came from australia, if you remember that one.
