Pointless Tonight (Possible Spoiler)
58 Answers
I think the repeat edition of tonight's Pointless may be the one where one of our AB's SDDSDDEAN wins a very large jackpot with his brother. However, as the grey cells are dying fast, I may be wrong. I will be watching just in case.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Mr N and I wondered about the jackpot and what had happened to that episode. Well congratulations on winning, I would be mightily miffed if I was the winner and it wasn't shown. I have proudly boasted to Mr N that sddsdean is a member of the same site as I am, although he didn't believe MENSA. So pleased for you both.
I thought i'd gone mad today when the jackpot was only a £1000.I sat looking for the jackpot winning show on catch up for ages........doh!!!!
Anyway, thanks for the link..i've just watched it...well done to both of you.
Annoyingly, my o/h said Congo which was pointless...grrr!!!!
I will be complaining.

i have been watching the repeats of pointless because i missed the original broadcasts. its been getting exciting for the last few episodes with the jackpot getting higher. so i was shocked tonight to find that tonights episode had returned to £1000. which meant that not only had i missed the winning episode but the bbc had spoilt the surprise because i knew it must have been won. why did they show all them episodes if they knew they were going to skip the most important and exciting one?. it just goes to show how little the bbc care about the viewers. did they think we wouldnt notice?. anyway luckily some kind people have uploaded it to youtube so i have since watched it tonight, and while i still enjoyed it, the surprise had been taken away.
Update from the BBC
This is the e-mail that I have just received.
"Many thanks for your interest in Pointless and for taking the time to contact us.
We have been asked why episode 60 from series 7 was not repeated within the current re-run of the series. In order to make the best use of licence fee resources we are sending the same response to everyone to explain why, but we apologise in advance if it doesn’t address your specific points in the manner you would prefer.
As mentioned above, this is a run of repeats that were originally broadcast in 2012. Following this episode’s original broadcast in 2012, a query was raised around the phrasing of one of the questions. This had no bearing on the outcome of the show, but on balance we decided it was best not to repeat the episode.
This decision was made because accuracy is of the utmost importance on Pointless, but we apologise for any confusion caused and for any disappointment if you were looking forward to seeing the jackpot being won.
We hope you feel able to accept our explanation and that you continue to watch and enjoy the show.
Thank you for taking the time to get in touch.
Kind Regards

In summary - I would deem that as being totally "Pointless"?

Congratulations on your win, and Thanx for sharing the video, we were disappointed that the episode seemed lost, and will be complaining, because as was said before, even if the BBC had not messed up, and had actually got Sensor as the correct order, you would have still triupmhed, as they could not have beaten you. A message could have been added to the end explaining the error, and explaining that the other team could not have beaten you had the BBC got the answer correct. Problem solved, viewers satisfied and you get to hold your heads high in the glory of a pointless answer!!!!!
Thanks all for the support, I wish I could contact the other pairs in our show just to see if they feel 'done', though I don't think they would. As said, Martin and I had already got the best answer, so whatever they answered would not have won them the round. I'd love to know how many people complained about the original show!
the show Pointless has some great dialogue and i'm sure the whole game is scripted and answers are created before going to air. this makes for some great comedy with some really stupid answers. ( last week a contestant said that mexico was in africa!!) really? but hey, it's television and they have to make it interesting. i'm sure every participant, win or lose, receives the same amount for taking part and is under contractual obligation not to reveal this.
