Spoilers in the title

I was watching Braniac last night, a mildly entertaining semi science show, mostly blowing things up. Anyway It struck me that at the start and again at the start of the ad break, they show you all the highlights of what is going to happen in the programme, result? You don't have to watch it! It's not the only programme that does this, why this fashion of spoiling the program before it even starts? Is it something to do with holding the attention of the chav viewers or something? I just sit there and close my eyes and block my ears now so that I can watch without knowing wht's going to happen!

The worst offender for this I've ever seen is a programme on Bravo called Street Crime UK. If a particular incident is the last to be shown on any given show, you can see highlights of it three or four times before they eventually get to it.
There is also one of the American police chase type shows that's almost as bad. I forget its exact name, but it's one where a "retired police officer" with implausible teeth audibly salivates over the scenes of mayhem, mutilation and destruction he's presiding over, while talking to his audience as if they're demented four year olds. "Driving at speeds approaching 90 mph and going the wrong way along a freeway, this driver is risking a serious accident". Well, no s***, Sherlock.

Hi Loosehead,
It's infuriating when programmes do that isn't it!
I like "Flog It" the Antique/Auction programme, but have to mute the sound at the start as they show you the reactions of the people selling things at the auction, that should really not be seen until the end!
What is the logic of it,as you say, all you need to do is watch the start and then switch off!LOL
