It's bad enough when it's the audience only but when the actual contestants and dancers themselves start hollering and whooping each other up it's unbearable. IMO it's just too much now. I'm probably alone in thinking this but it's spoiling it for me."
This has driven me mad for years - and it is only on the icrease.
Any show with an audience does it - X-factor audiences start whooping the moment the music starts, before the perfomer has opened their mouth!
It is spreading to live concerts as well - as I banged on about a few months ago -
watching Steve Harley perform Make Me Smile - one of the most played records on UK radio, and therefore probably known well by his entire audience, when it came to the two pauses in the song - one woman felt the performance and enjoyment would be enhanced by her filling that silence by going 'Woooo!' at the top of her voice - so she did.
I cannot speak for others, but in my mind, she was upended and had her head stuffed into one of her own wellies with some vigour!!!
