If that is the case how do other countries in the EU manage to discriminate between their own native-born needy cases and foreign scroungers, so as to encourage the latter to move on?

I don't know if we really are that soft. We might read in the papers about someone with 10 children in Poland who sends their Child Benefit home and who lives in a huge house in London, mostly paid for by Housing Benefit, but I think these are quite few - if any - and there might be other circumstances that make the difference. I'm sure their Governments are stronger than our Sandy.

If it were that easy, we wouldn't have camps of Romanians living in parks here.
Agreed TWR
Being aged and part of the "flog 'em and then hang 'em" fraternity, I've always been of the opinion the benefits available, should only be those available in their own countries, in order to try and ensure people only want to come to work?
The UK manages to discriminate between their own native-born needy cases and foreign scroungers. The latter get everything, the former nowt.
Beegee, on the N.West news tonight, Manchester is expecting hundreds of persons to be without a home & sleeping in Cardboard beds in and around Manchester this Xmas, is there something wrong here? Should it be, look after our own? it seems the British are the last people to be thought of, T.May wants kicking out of her post, she is not fit to hold her post.
Here in Switzerland you get nowt until you have works here for 2 years and paid tax.
In Germany I heard this morning on the radio it was 5 years of work, before you were eligible for benefits.
I totally agree Sir, here in the generous Dumping Ground we have people using food banks, pensioners going cold & having the choice of heat or food, we have scroungers making their way here & given everything - a car, but wait for it, that may come yet if the scroungers start moaning they can not get to work. good place this eh????
The rules are the same for everyone. Immigrants do not get preferential treatment despite what the media says.
I would not bet on it Ummmm.
I would like to see the proof that JSA/ESA/LHA etc etc are paid at higher rates to folk from overseas.

People may get other help from outside agencies but benefit rates are set based on age, children and so on for all.

...and the band played, "Believe it if you like".

TWR, read this please

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/10055613/Labour-sent-out-search-parties-for-immigrants-Lord-Mandelson-admits.html

Then please tell me what part Theresa May and the present Government played in it!
OK Blackadder, will you please link to some document that states the rate of JSA (I'll settle for that) for a single person and sets out the higher rate for someone from overseas,.
I thoroughly agree that the system is heavily flawed but let us stick to real facts.
Like mamy says...the rates are set.
Seems we're wrong Ummmm, Blackadder will get us a ink I'm sure.
^ or a link
