Kids programme 30 years ago? There was a boy ill in bed who drew a wierd picture and would go into the picture. Does anyone remember from this description? thank-you

It was the girl who went into the picture. There is a very good film adaptation of this story, although the plot has been altered slightly, called 'Paperhouse'.

Just to clarify - the tv series was 'Escape into Night' made in 1972 and the movie 'Paperhouse' was made in 1988. Both are based on the same story, 'Marianne' by Catherine Storr. The main difference in the tv version is the rocks with eyes that close in on the house. This was not included in the film, but other elements were. 'Paperhouse' was wrongly marketed as a horror film which it so clearly isn't. It's more of an examination of the confusion and fear of entering adolescence.
