Harry Hill was awful by all accounts, debated watching it on catch up later on today. Wont bother!

Been talking to Mrs sqad over breakfast and she agrees with all the ABer's comments above, but makes these points.

Harry Hill is a funny guy and comes over well on an interview om a morning TV spot as a humorous guy.........but this will do his career no good at all.

Apparently this "slapstick rubbish" goes down well at Holiday Camps and the large number of people that go to these places will LOVE New Stars in Their Eyes.

When they offered this job to Harry Hill he said he would only do it if he could put his own stamp on it, well I'm sorry but I don't believe this show was designed for slapstick comedy and I'm sure the contestants would prefer to be taken more seriously than this. They might as well call it The Harry Hill Show. Won't be watching again. x

I agree- the programme should be about the contestants and their singing ability but it seems to be focusing on Harry Hill and I bet some contestants hate having to take part in silly sketches.
Having said that, it does seem to be the trend now on programmes such as Strictly, Martin Lewis, Watchdog to have silly sketches where most people look totally embarrassed

I like Harry Hill as a comedian, but this programme was awful. I did laugh at his dog-grooming in the van, and when he pulled his tongue out to touch his ear - but as far as the 'acts' went....awful.

I missed the start, turned on just as he was introducing the 'Everly Brothers'. Turned off one minute later! Sorry Harry. Please stick to You've Been Framed.

We loved TV burp and recorded this and just watched it as loved the original Stars in the Eyes.... what a load of rubbish.... last two acts were OK but programme completed ruined by Harry Hill antics... what on earth were ITV thinking commiserating this, they must be desperate.

Not a patch on the original - at least the folk back then could sing! Some of Harry's antics made me laugh, especially the dog grooming in the back of the van (what a lovely dog), but 'Burp' was far funnier.
