At the quiz this week one of my team, who is normally intelligent and on the ball, gave an answer that had us all staring open mouthed at him.
The question was:
Which is the most northerly of the Channel Islands?
The answer he came out with was:
The Isle of Skye.
I guess geography is not his strongest subject.

Well what the answer?
Folk don't always listen properly to the question, latch on to one part, and come up with a decent but wrong answer.

It'd be a reasonable stab, if the channel stretched all the way to the north pole :-). But Unst might have been a better guess; unless one was leaving the British Isles.
Here's one for you.

Which of the capital cities of the countries or principalities of the UK mainland is furthest west?
Dave was just being sarky
According to Wiki Alderney is the most northerly.
Without checking I'd have guess Belfast, Hoppy. But knowing my luck there is some Canary island capital further west.
Old Geez, I was asking about UK mainland only, not NI.
Edinburgh then.
Correct. You win the cigar.
Cardiff?
Umph!

Hopkirk - eh?
Looks like Edinburgh- just

Hopkirk - I knew the answer but didn't give it because I don't like cigars
In your mind it is Cardiff by miles.

On a flat map it looks like Cardiff by a bit.

In truth it is Edinburgh by a fraction.
