The Quiet American - Michael Caine...

.. is on BBC2 at 11.00. I recommend the film to those who haven't seen it. It's one of Caine's better performances in his later years. I recommend it especially to those who, like me, remember the first anodyne Hollywood version with the fine actor Michael Redgrave (yes, that's him: Corin and Vanessa's dad). All the bitter anti-Americanism of Graham Greene's novel had been removed from the "commie" Redgrave's version, but largely restored in Caine's.
Not many people know that! Or do they?
