Flicking through the channels I came across a channel showing a sitcom called 'Not Going Out' and found it amazingly funny.

Obviously these are repeats, when was the original show broadcast, how many episodes were there and is there any plans to make a new series?

The last episode was aired about Christmastime!
There have been 7 series. The original few also starred Miranda Hart and Tim Vine and were indeed very funny. Gone off a bit since Tim Vine left I think but still quite funny.
Loved this show, cant believe there'll be no more, Lee Mack and Tim Vine, tv gold imo.

I enjoyed seasons 1 - 4 immensely then it gradually got a bit tedious.
The Tim Vine seasons were the best and I enjoyed the cameo by Bobby Ball as Lee's Dad is some later episodes.

For £14.58 this is a steal on Amazon for seasons 1-5

This is exactly the reason I buy a decent listings magazine (Radio Times, arguably the best)...without one, you can end up "flicking through the channels" and missing some worthwhile TV.
It was only by seeing it in Radio Times, that I discovered that one of my "must see" American shows had started a new series on More4...with no prior warning on-screen.

Thank you for your replies, does anyone know how many episodes there are in each series?
You can view some episodes on YouTube.

If you think this is good, watch Still Game on the same website. You'll pee yourself laughing.

Nessie TLNM :-)
Normally 6 I think
I'm not a fan of the show, honestly not really watched it. but do like Tim Vine and Lee Mack as stand up's.

It's a good Programme,

I seriously fancy Lucy, But Don't tell Mrs B.
I like Lee Mack, I think he's very amusing and have seen all of the episodes of Not Going Out, but I did prefer the earlier ones when Miranda Hart and Tim Vine were still in the series, and I think that Series 1 started with an american girl living in the flat, rather than Lucy.

Took me a while to get into it, the first one I saw had Miranda Hart in it,
I couldn't change channels quickly enough!
It may have being Miranda Hart that I channel hopped as well, I'm not a fan.
It was criminal that only two series of Early Doors were ever made, it was hilarious.
I'm usually late in finding good programmes. This time I'm surprised to find some are only just discovering that one. Yes it is a particular gem.
I'm not a fan of Lee Mack or Tim Vine, but strangely find Not Going Out quite addictive.
