Minty in Eastenders

I was watching an old episode of EE the other day, and Mintywas in it, except he wasn't very nice at all! He was Janine's landlord, and a bit mean and she called him Mick. Is it the same character? Is Mick Minty's real name, and has he just got nicer since he started in in, or is it a completely different character?

He did used to be Janine's landlord.  His name in the show is Rick 'Minty' Peterson.

And there's Jim Brannaon.  When he first appeared he and his sons where racist.  Now Jim has racist intentions at all

Billy Mitchell was violent originally because of his own internal demons as a result of having been abused in a care home.  He was able to change after he had confronted his abuser when he appeared in the pub.

Jim Branning?  I don't remember his ever having any sons on screen.  He appeared as a character because he is the father of Carol Jackson, and grandfather of Sonia.  Come to think of it, I don't remember him being racist either.

and there was tiffany's dad who was evil and pushed her down the stairs when she was little and then ended up as a loveable buffoon...

i guess eastenders believes that everybody can change aaaahhhh
