Picture Keeps Breaking Up

For some time now our picture on sky keeps breaking up when I spoke to sky about it some time ago they told me to take the scart plugs out and put them back which I did but it has not solved the problem. They said they could come out to look at the problem but would charge me £60 I am paying £56 a month now I do not see why I have to pay that sort of charge. My satellite dish is 16 years old could this be the problem. Any help would be much appreciated. My husband is 83 and gets so much pleasure out of the sport channels.

Have you got any tall trees in line of the dish ?
Perhaps it just needs re- alignment .

My TV does that too. When I asked about it from the "experts" at Curry's where I bought it, they said that weather conditions affect the sky dish. Heavy rain, hailstones and wind, apparently cause this. They couldn't offer any solution. I live near the sea, in quite an exposed area and we get windy conditions fairly frequently, so the picture on the TV is constantly breaking up. It is infuriating!! Our old TV never did this.

Is the Sky dish dirty?

Has it moved and now not pointing in the right direction? Strong wind or a builder working on a ladder nearby could have done this.

Personally I would get a new dish fitted, 16 years is a long time to have a dish.

We've got Virgin, cable and have the same problem. Two new boxes, new cable, it's better, but still does it. Weren't we told how great digital TV would be?
