I wouldn't watch the show last night because of the dog act and I'm distressed to read about her shaking on this thread, poor little thing. I was one of the many who reported it to the RSPCA, I emailed ITV as well. The panel call themselves dog lovers, but a TRUE dog lover would never put their pet through that, after all she has no choice. I wonder if the fact that this...

I don't think it is remotely funny, and negates all the other brilliant acts.
Hi Boo

We just had it on and saw the poor dog shaking.....no wonder if it's got some sort of contraption on its jaw/mouth and in discomfort....I think it's cruel. I'd like to stick a contraption on the dogs owner...see how he likes it.

Horrible to see wasn't it?

Agreed.
Tbh I hope this act does not go through to the Final.
I too saw the dog shaking, and that got me thinking if the dog was somehow distressed in some way. Hmm.....
Anyway my two top acts were The Neales and that 15 year old boy Isaac sang with so much emotion I reckon he could well go through.
I will be totally gobsmacked if both these acts don't go through!!
I totally agree with you there too yogi....see how the owner likes that kind of contraption on him!!
Hi Imhotep,

Really good to see you on tonight and I trust all is well....:-)

Your wish is granted....the dogs out and probably relieved.....it was, as Boo said, uncomfortable viewing.

The two acts you wanted to go through have apparently gone through, so you called it just right, Imhotep....well done:-)
Cowell and Holden are supposedly dog lovers. For them to permit that act, let alone praise it, is disgraceful. The French "ventriloquist" was smarmy and creepy. Why did he send his dog off stage before him? Presumably to have the moving mask removed, and probably to have him put in a cage. It's Monsieur Mettral himself who should be put in a cage...with a mask on his mouth. Cruel bstrd

Glad he didn't get through to finals it was a terrible act almost creepy!
Ironically, the weakest line-up so far had the most enthusiasm from the judges - even Simon Cowell who is far less forthright with his comments this time around.

I thought all the acts were either novelty - seen it once, don't want to see it again - or smarmy and sentimental.

The classical family were genuinely talented, and lost, the teenager with less than no personality and an indifferent voice won - it's the British public again.
I'm still frankly amazed that so many of my friends and colleagues didn't realise it was fake at the first viewing.
difficult to understand where these one-trick ponies will go after they've taken part and the world has moved on.

Stavros Flatley - an endearing act from 2009 featuring a father and his small chubby 13 year old son; my sister saw them perform recently in Great Yarmouth, and it's not so endearing when the son is now a gangling 19 year old who towers over his father.

I wonder if the fact that this man never got through reflects the public's opinion ? The thing is he will carry on with his act anyway, sadly.
Can't believe all the comments on this - the dog was not shaking it was panting as its warm under those studio lights. She was not distressed and on the show afterwards she was quite calm. Hardly an RSPCA case when there are far worse things people do to animals. She won't ever end up in a rescue or dumped by the road. He obviously loves her and I don't see anything wrong with it - its just a bit of fun.
A bit of fun??? I'd like to strap a metal contraption over your face and have a baying audience laughing hysterically at you and see how you like it !! Oh, but you have a choice, don't you !!
Thanks for best answer BOO ..

The dog WAS shaking lankeela, that to me spoke of fear, im not the only one who noticed. What of, I've no idea, the muzzle, the heat, the audience, the noise or all of the above.

Yes of course there's far worse animal issues to get upset over, and believe me i do, however this was one that I observed last night and it's the one im discussing.

I do find the whole using animals for or amusement really unpalatable, you obviously don't lankeela and you are entitled to your opinion as am I.

no probs chaps. x
