Who is she

Can someone please tell me who this Vanessa Phelps is or who she think she is?
The only time I have seen her on the box she is criticizing someone or other. Is that all she does, or does she have any special talent? I havn't seen her display any yet.

Journalist and has and probably does still hosts daytime chat/discussion shows.

Famously lost the plot on Celebrity Big Brother.

She, I suspect.is asked to comment on various shows is because she does have a caustic wit and is not afraid to speak her mind.Good value for money in other words.

I think she started on a Trisha type show. She was overweight, bubbly, very outspoken and lead the viewers to believe she was happily married to a Doctor and the mother of two well adjusted girls and big is beautiful and sexy. Because she became so popular the BBC poached her and gave her her own chat/agony show. It all came tumbling down when guest's on her agony aunt slot turned out to be actors. Vanessa insisted that she knew nothing about it and was not responsible. Around the same time it all came out that her husband had been having an affair for years and he had left her. She then started losing weight rapidly and publicly and was allegedly having sex with her personal trainer. 

No talent (as you say) but a big ego.

Actually, she does have a talent - she's a good writer.

until very VERY recently, i thought she was a vile, stricken beast, floundering in her mud of selfness.

but no, maybe not.

OUR media, made powerful 'coz we scoff it in order to scoff at it have made her and also made her such as she is.

of all the flailing, buttery bladders that we lap at, my (clearly important to far more people than me) opinion decrees that she's ok. and ok-er than most, or some, at least.

but she has got a funny stretched face.

and she's had a lot of stick.

Thanks for that, seems she is in all the programmes I dont watch. and writes articles I haven' t read. Saw her on Little Britain last night, (excellent show) which prompted me to ask.

remember her from way back when she wrote a column for She magazine (is that still going?), and she was really rather good. For my money, that's a genuine talent. She had the right sort of extrovert personality for a chat show but it went pear-shaped, as mentioned, when it turned out some of her guests were faked. Not necessarily her fault.
