witchey Poo and Witch Hazel

Does anyone remember the kids program with two witches in it called Witchey Poo and Witch hazel?

Apparently it was called "pufnstuff" does that sound familier? It looks like it was an American programme. no? Is this it?

'h r pufnstuf was excellent saturday morning kids entertainment.

I would have been about 6-7 years old when it was broadcast in the early 70's. Pufnstuf was a dragon and he was mayor of living island. Here everything is actually living, including trees, flowers, books and candles (hence the name, Living Island).

The hero was a young boy called Jimmy, played by Jack Wild, and he had a magic talking flute called Freddie. As i remember, Jimmy spent every episode trying to get home, and Witchiepoo tried to hyjack the talking flute.

an additional bit of trivia, Witch Hazel was played by mama cass elliot of Mamas & The Papas fame.
