Did anyone notice the baby being born in the show tonight was a doll. It was so obvious, not even a very good doll. They did replace it with a baby later though.
Details like that don't bother me, in fact I'd rather they used a prosthetic baby than a real one in many scenes. They've got lots of them apparently, maybe it was bathnight for the best ones. :)
I think the way the actor handles it has a lot to do with how believable it looks.
On TV, I'd guess that most 'baby-scenes' involving an adult holding the child are fake. One can often tell, even when the supposed baby is turned away from the camera, that there is no living creature there. It's about as lame as many views of supposedly pregnant women; the baby-bump is just often 'wrong' and pregnant women just don't 'move' as shown.
