There have been over the past weeks, a number of shows giving a run down of the top 100 or 50 on various subjects, Reality show moments, News clips, Childrens tv prog's, Pop songs. All stated they were chosen by (YOU), the public. Where were we able to vote, was anyone asked, or have the option to vote, Or do they just assume their listings would be correct.

I remember voting in the list of top 50 news items, on the internet, a few months ago.  Usually there is a website somewhere on which people can nominate their own favourite things, but they don't get much publicity and are usually ages before the eventual resulting programme.

If you're talking about the Channel 4 ones then this is how it works.

Channel 4 select the 100 best sitcoms, cartoons, etc.,  then they put them on their website and you get to vote on what order they appear on the show.

That's how they magically have the rights to show clips of the whole list - because they've only listed the programmes they do have the rights to show in the first place.

In case you miss it, next Tuesday, Channel 5 are showing Britain�s Top 50 �Top 10� Programmes a countdown of the best �Best Of� programmes from the last month.

Whilst over on Channel 4, this programme is featured in British Television�s Top 10 Cheapest Programmes To Make

Meanwhile, on ITV1 there�s 50* Years of Coronation Street featuring the best moments from The Street in the last 50 years. (* Yes we know that Coronation Street has only been going since 1960, but it�s ITV�s 50th anniversary (in case you didn't know), so why turn down the opportunity to rehash 45 year�s worth of episodes into a three hour special the advertisers will love?)

 On BBC1, in the latest in their �I Love�� series, it�s �I Love� All Those Top 10/50/100 Programmes�

Alternatively, on BBC2, there�s another chance to see one of Alan Bennet�s highly acclaimed Talking Heads monologues, featuring Miranda Sawyer, Chris Moyles, That-Woman-That-Does-The-Soap-Gossip-On-GMTV and Slash from Guns �n � Roses answering the same questions, in the same studio, with the same background and wearing the same shirt as they have in every other Top 10/50/100 etc programme for the last eight years.

Thanks for the info brachiopod, but still not telling me how do i vote. I'll wait for the top 50 best ways to vote. and see what happens.
