Looking for name of thriller/horror film
Hi there
am looking for a horror film I saw in 1984 whilst in the UK on TV.
From my memory, the film was British, but I maybe mistaken. The film itself looked fairly recent when I saw it - possibly mid-70's onwards.
I was only 8 when I saw the film, so the details are a bit hazy, but it's remained in my mind so I'm desperate to find it! The plot is this
A young couple (couple 1) live in an apartment block and a new couple move into the room next door who are slightly older (couple 2).
After a while, strange things start to happen, the couple's bird (a yellow one - that's all i remember) goes missing, they hear weird noises etc etc. This eventually leads to some sort of conflict between
the two couples which ends in the the woman of couple 1 going missing.
After a lot of suspense and horror, of which the details I can't remember, the man from couple 1 discovers that the woman has been buried alive in the grounds outside the apartment block. The film
finishes and woman 1 wakes up from what appears to have been a nightmare. She tells the husband about the dream, but are disturbed by a couple moving in next door. As they look, the woman notices that the
couple have exactly the same bird as in her dream (the one that went missing) and she screams. There the film ends.
The film seems have been set in modern times England.
Hope someone can help!
Thanks
Dilan

Thanks for taking an interest! Yeah, it was a good film cos it still affects me now! :)
I'm afraid I don't remember the actors names in the film, but the man from couple 1 had brown hair, medium build, whilst the woman had frizzy blonde hair. The house/block they lived in was more like an old country stately mansion type thing that had been converted to flats - it was about 4/5 stories high and had large grounds. It was in front of the house, during a thunderstorm night, that the man discovered his wife buried whilst trying to get away from the house. I'm pretty sure the film was British - I think I remember people saying it was a Hammer Horror at the time, but I can't locate the film on any of the relevant websites so this maybe a red herrring.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Dilan
