I know its a serious subject but I thought David's chat with 'Eric and Ernie' was so funny, and the whole episode showed how every man must feel in that position, his fears and trepidations are how they all must feel, then his relief to find he HAD survived his op. must have given reassurance to anyone in the same position, well done to the producers.

Yes, they're playing their parts well. (David and Eric, not Eric and Ernie, lol).
I'm not sure about David not telling Jake though. In my experience honesty with your children is the best way.

I agree to some extent with Robinia and Minty(xx) but I do find that David tends to overreact to any situation he finds himself in.

I like the way Emmerdale uses humour to get some very serious issues across, I think people react better that way rather than being preached to.

Handled well imo , if they did the same story in Eastenders it would have been "complicated"
