Has anyone on AB read this book by Paula Hawkins?

I ask because, without giving anything away - have you see the trailer for the movie adaptation???

Thanks for the recommendations. I will put those two on my list.

-SharonA- yes, I can see Sheridan Smith. In the book, Rachel is described as formerly good looking, but has now put on weight through drink. She's also in her 30s.

The only person I could think of a a visual reference point is Sarah Millican.

I'm not being nasty. I love Sarah Millican.
Sp - I will look forward to reading it - eventually!

I have to say I failed to predict the plot when I read TGOTT!!!
Just started reading this book, now on page 56. No way does Emily Blunt fit the picture of Rachel, too slim and pretty. When I've enjoyed a book, the film often disappoints me.

Yep. If Emily Blunt had been cast as Tom's new wife, I'd understand. But not Rachel.
Question Author
Perhaps Rene Zellweger as she was in Bridget Jones' Diary would've been a better fit for Rachel.
Yes, I agree with both of those sp.
Anyone read Behind closed Doors??? That would make a good film.

I've read Behind Closed Doors, very gripping and it would make a good film, I recommended it on the previous page along with I Let You Go. In A Dark Dark Wood is good too.
I've read both and enjoyed both, behind closed doors I liked more. I can see Emily blunt in the roll, dressed and made up for the part, not in her red carpet mode.
I've never read a book after seeing the film, but frequently have the other way round, sometimes it explains it all, sometimes it's disappointing.
Yeah, loved Dark Wood!!!
Might have to download in a dark dark wood, looks very good. Don't often pay full price for kindle books but this may be worth it..
I've got Behind Closed Doors. Bought it a while ago, will read it next.
You will love it Viv!
I'll have to get Dark Wood as well I think Sharon ....
Eve, is that by Ruth Ware ? In a Dark Dark Wood ?
Yes, that's the one. I started it over a coffee one afternoon and read the entire book in one sitting! It's not that long a book and I was hooked!
Ruth Ware has another book out in July, The Woman in Cabin 10.

I'm currently reading Burnt Paper Sky by Gilly Macmillan which had recommendations by some authors I like and was flagged as for fans of I Let You Go. Good so far but not on the same level as some of the others I've mentioned.
I've read The Girl on the Train and quite enjoyed it. Couldn't understand why it stayed so long as the Number 1 read as I've read better. Would give the film a try though.
I finally finished GOTT a few days ago...and no way would I picture Emily Blunt in the role. Rachel is a very damaged character in many ways, and EB does not look the type.
And why oh why do they have to change the location?
Don't tell me...to make it more appealing to American audiences.
