NO !
No, but i do think there is far too much time given to soaps, cookery programmes, reality tv, celebrity this and celebrity that, etc, etc, etc.
At least the coverage is good and covers everything. If you watch it on American TV, all you see is "the Americans at the Olympics" - appalling.
Yes to BC1, yes BBC2, yes to BBC4.
Ken4155....agree 100% !

The Olympics are only on TV every 4 years, and I can't see why people who are not interested can't tune into one of the 100's of other TV stations that pretend that the Olympics don't exist......ITV for instance !

Who can forget that marvelous middle weekend in 2012, when Britain did so well....its was better than any thriller !
YES !
Too much sport on the main channels period.

For those interested in such things there should be a separate sports channel.
It's only on for two weeks every four years.

What about all the crap that's on all year round on the other hundreds of channels that you could choose to watch? I think there's too much of that.
Yes!!!!!
I object to wall to wall football being on the telly , at the expense of other less 'popular ' sports
It's only every 4 years for two weeks !!
It might seem like wall to wall football for a few weeks every couple of years, Bazile, but it's only on one of the many channels at any one time and is usually no more than 3 matches a day
No.
I'm with Ken4155 on this one.
Well said, that man!

I agree it should be televised but why not keep it to a special channel? I prefer motor sports and team sports, but athletics leave me yawning, although I do wish all our competitors well, and am chuffed when the medals come our way.

Yes, far too much, most of it is minority interest, should be relegated to a Sports Channel or two available 24/7.
There is no BBC sports channel. In 2012 the BBC did open up a whole host of extra channels for the home Olympics. But this was for things like the water polo qualifying and the wrestling finals. And not everyone could access them
No, and I agree wholeheartedly with Ken4155.
No. Its only once every four years and only lasts a couple of weeks. How can that be too much?

ichkeria, any BBC channel, and let's be honest they've got enough, could become a Sports/Olympic channel, after all it's only for two weeks, and it's not rocket science.
Yes. We generally watch BBC and total rubbish for the most part on other channels.
