On the last round why is the correct answer not given when a contestant gets it wrong?,this leaves viewers wondering.

It's given when they're wrong (I think) but not when they pass.

Maybe I picked it up wrongly, but did the previous winner have a lower score than the lad who was put out? Surely the 2 highest scorers should go through to the final round.

The champion who wears the gold badge cannot be knocked out before the final round.
