What has happened to Barry Simmons? Is he taking over from CJ with the flowery shirt and his hair restyled. Not to mention the make up Or is he in competition with Judith? I've always thought he looked creepy but this takes the biscuit.

Well, there is a mens league table and a womens league table, so most people will have worked out that there will be a male and a female winner.
The eggheads team is not supposed to be representative of anything. It is not selected on cleverness alone, and it is curated rather than the being simply the best. Ideally a panel like this, that is watched by the general public should consist of men and women, young and old. Maybe the obligatory gay thrown in. So a selection process that guarantees a male and a female neww egghead is perfectly acceptable.
