there was a series of short films which came under the umbrella of a prog called Northern Lights. They were made by BBC Northern Ireland.

Wasn't this the series about a town in Alaska? I think that the main male character was a youngish doctor who was a newcomer to the town. I also think that one of the other characters was a retired astronaut. Of course it's so easy to mix up all of these past series. I'm sure that I watched and enjoyed this one though!

Probably way of base here, but was'nt it a tv cop series shown last year and set in Newcastle featuring a black cop from London!?
