the grown ups?

I'm fed up to the teeth with all the kids dragons, princesses, Disney, sleeping beauty, animated films etc.

Send the kids to their rooms to play with their Xmas pressies, and lets have some gory horror movies, with heads being chopped off, blood sucking creatures, zombies taking over towns, monsters eating people etc.

Build yourself a collection of horror movies to watch.
Not sure about all the gore trt, but I would have loved a ghost story on Christmas Eve like we used to have some years back. It used to be the highlight of my Christmas Eve, a good, scary ghost story !
You could always watch Spooks!!
Dances With Wolves is on 2, now.
Snow white has some very scary moments...
Agree kids not even watching telly they have seen all the movies before too busy with their drones and gadgets us oldies just want something to entertain us Thank goodness for Only Fools and Horses might take out my Godfather movies horse head etc
Tv is always dire at Xmas. I guess the tv people think we're all too drunk or partying to watch any tv.

Wot, there was a Morecambe and Wise Christmas show on last night ( from 1976 ).
I loved the Lion King the other day , and I hate horror movies. It was the only thing I watched on Christmas Day as I was at work earlier. I do not yet feel quite ready to relinquish my inner child. My 11 year old niece on the other hand shows great enthusiasm for goriness.
The ghost stories referred to were amazing in the early 1970s, The Stone Tapes was really scary although when it was shown again a couple of years ago I couldn't believe how unsophisticated the production was.
My grandchildren would love gory films!
there's a whole Star Wars channel at the moment
I enjoyed Alan Bennett on Xmas Eve jno....still available on the iplayer !
Actually, this why I watch so little TV these days. I find most of it boring and infantile in the extreme. Thank goodness for the BBC IPlayer !
Tony, I missed that one as I was..............partying!!!
Good gal, Sharon.
I caught some of it because it was on at one of my relatives house.
There is an new episode of Inside Number 9 on this week. The newspaper previews are saying it's creepy and scary, possibly a spoof on psychological thrillers, but there's an unexpected twist.

It's written by Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith from The League of Gentlemen. Maybe not quite what you're looking for, but it looks like the nearest you'll get to it on TV over the next few days ( or ever).
Cloverjo - I agree, some of the older ghost stories were brilliant, 'Long Afterwards', 'O Whistle and I'll come to you My Lad' and another one about a lonely signalman in a railway control box, can't remember what it was called, but it was scary !! Every year I hope they'll put one on.
^ Sorry that was to zebo ..
I'm going to watch the Steve Pemberton, Reece Shearsmith one, but it says it's a comedy, so won't be very scary !
