Shame about the background noise. Why have documentaries that you cannot hear people talking because of the incessant noise. Utterly spoils an excellent programme.
Just watched last half of Hospital. Felt so elated for Simon having a new oesophagus. Then at end comes up he died 5 weeks later. Couldn't quite get what it said . Think it was infection? So sad.
I switched off after about half an hour, so don't know what happened but did wonder why a lady with an aortic aneurysm was being transferred such a long way to that particular hospital. When my husband had an AA he was sent to the nearest hospital and treated there. It was 50/50 but he survived.
I didn't watch it, but I'm amazed that someone can have a new oesophagus. Sad that he died not long after.
Hellywelly, repairing an AA is quite a difficult job. My dad had one, and thankfully survived, too. I would guess that the lady was transferred to the best place and surgeon, and your hubby was lucky to be near a good one.
