10 Rillington Place On Tonight

Just noticed that this film is being shown as a tribute to John Hurt tonight on BBC2 at 11:15 - 1:05am....Going to record it to watch later in the week.
If anyone hasn't seen it, or even those who have, I strongly recommend it as a powerful true story with first class acting from Richard Attenborough and John Hurt. The film does contain disturbing scenes.

Just thought I'd mention it.if any want to watch or record it.:-)

The main problem was at his trial Evans admitted to killing his wife and child. If he had pleaded not guilty there might have been a different verdict

If you read the Wiki entry, you will see that this was a gross miscarriage of justice, due, not in any small way, by the slapdash way that the Police handled the case at the time :::

thanks for the heads-up. On the strength of having really enjoyed the Tim Roth 3-parter remake, we've just got a DVd of the original film, so will be putting that in the player this coming weekend! Agree with yogi-bear - a very powerful and disturbing film, which we found totally unforgettable!

Just back from shopping and had a pleasant lunch in Ask Italian..... Piggin' awful day on the south coast, with low cloud and drizzle that soaks you....can't stand brolleys.

Ladybirder, I have Netflix and just searched for it on there.....Sadly it isn't, so will look around and see if there is a download or something on the net....I will return!....you have been warned. :-)

The sound is a bit out of sync...is that right ?

Never noticed that on there,Mikey....Sometimes happens on certain parts of internet movies....think it's the sound trying to catch up with the picture. Many occasions it corrects itself eventually.

Is it a lot out of sync of marginally?....

Is the picture quality good?


Just think of all those dubbed Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns with the sound and talk out of sync.....lol


If not I will turn to Plan B......Which is finding another download......

Its starts out OK Yogi, but within 10 mins, the out-of-syncness gets too bad to continue.

I've just watched it. More sinister than the recent one but the recent one was better for a drama had it not been a true story.

Can't agree with Andy on the hanging scene (which he's posted on other threads) where it was quick. We don't know how quick it was as soon as he dropped it changed scenes.
