Its been £145:50 per annum since 2010. I think its disgusting that it should rise by £1:50, a huge amount in 7 years ! ( tic )

I am more than happy to pay the UK TV licence fee. Have you watched TV in the US lately? Or in Australia or South Africa? It`s dire. The BBC produces such good quality television. I don`t mind paying for that
" The BBC produces such good quality television"
where was that then?
// Have you watched TV in the US lately? Or in Australia or South Africa? It`s dire. The BBC produces such good quality television//
That would be in comparison then? Its still dire.
All of their nature/history/costume dramas etc
And endless repeats....
Nailit - sorry but I disagree with you. This is what happens when you watch TV in America. You get the credits (as we do) then without warning, cut to the programme. 10 minutes later, cut to more ads (without any warning) then show the programme, then 10 mins later, cut to ads and so on for however long the programme is on. Then when the programme ends, cut to the ads, then the programme credits and then more ads. It`s painful to watch. Bring on the BBC
Agree 237, tv in the U.S. does seem to consist of adds. But then the Beeb is full of repeats. If I had a license it would be last years as I'm watching last years programmes.
Actually I'm not anymore as I don't have a tv since getting back on broadband a few weeks ago.

Surely, just the mention of David Attenborough should be enough to answer your comment Bernie ?
I would rather watch repeats than ads.

Id rather stick rusty pins in my eyes than pay to watch Homes under the hammer or Bargain hunt but each to their own I guess.
Well yes but who watches TV in the morning? The quality programmes are broadcast in the evening
Bernie - even a brief search of your posting history proves you to be being 'economical with the actualité' about never watching the BBC.

Olympics? MOTD and other football?
Shop well for less, Britain on the fiddle, flog it, who dares wins etc.
Far from me to dictate your tv viewing but I'd still rather stick rusty pins in to my eyes than pay the Beeb for this rubbish.
I just got my free TV licence on March 1st. You can probably tell how old I am. However, I have paid for my licences ever since I was 20 years old. I am quite happy!
Me too, Bobbie......I choose my TV programmes.... Mostly BBC and they offer some fantastic programmes ....and the radio is bliss....I'd pay just for that....x

I havnt paid for a license for years, I'm quiet happy too. Don't need one now though anyway.
"Britain on the fiddle" Would that be people who don`t pay for a TV licence and leech of the rest of us then?
