News On Bbc1 Now. Why?
11 Answers
I'm not minimising the news from Westminster, but why does the BBC, who have a dedicated news channel, feel the need to scrap programmes from BBC1 to show the same news feed.
Pre digital, fair enough, but these days there's no reason why. Maybe run a tickertape under normal programmes advising and telling them to tune over to the news channel, yeah, but this is silly.
The thing is, at the moment, there is very little news anyway - it's just the same thing repeated again and again.

Postdog's point is that the BBC have a dedicated news channel, ITV don't, so no need for duplicate coverage, I think he has a point. Good idea about re-directing via tickertape.

Just wondering does this prolonged coverage not give publicity to those who plan and carry out such deeds
Yes it does IMO, Although most of us will be concerned about the victims and casualties (Not forgetting families and loved ones affected) of it, they'll be factions soaking up the coverage given to them.
