Has anybody else noticed that NOBODY smokes on Corrie any more? We did see Peter with a cigarette in his hand a week or two ago but he didn't light it.

At one time there were so many heavy smokers on the programme I had to open my windows :D

I don't watch Corrie now, but I would guess that they are not allowed to show people smoking on tv anymore, unless the programme is set in the 60s when everyone smoked everywhere.

The powers that be have removed Winston Churchill's cigar from a photo and one of The Beatles' ciggy from the cover of Abbey Road.

Dot in Eastenders smokes in nearly every episode she is in, maybe they are with the times now and lots of people have given it up as your not allowed to smoke in most places now

Actors can still smoke in tv shows and films. Corrie is reflecting real life with the number of smokers dropping but I wonder how many of the actors have asked not to smoke on set as they no longer smoke in real life.

(I know they smoke prop cigarettes in the show and have done for many years)
