does anyone know if sky living is available on any other provider than sky, which i have and i hate, virgin which i cant get because we don't get cable, or talk talk which has the worse customer service reviews i have ever seen. i would love to get rid of sky, my box is forever freezing and failing to record, but they won't do anything about it unless i pay. i am not about to pay them any more than the £90 to £100 a month i pay already and i am happy to cancel my subscription. only ............. there is a programme on sky living that i have watched since it started donkeys years ago, and i want to keep watching it. can't make head nor tail of now tv, it looks like its just boxed sets from the past and not current programmes. i could be wrong of course and welcome advice from those tv experts out there.

i should possibly have made myself clear about how much i pay to sky. as well as the tv, we do have our landline, with calls package, plus our broadband. so i dont really know how much it is just for the tv, although i could check on my bill!! we have the entertainment one, plus hd, plus some sports channels but no idea what because i dont watch the sport. we are retired, don't go out much at night during the week so i think we get value for our monthly spend. its not actually the amount i spend that narks me. its that when the box starts to go on the blink - and yes i know all about the fact that its actually my box not theirs - they want to charge for a call out, and i would have to pay for a replacement should this be needed. im not about to pay the outrageous amount to insure it and i just think that when you spend this much a month with them they could at least send someone out to look at the box. you can threaten to cancel to get a free visit, and in the past it has worked but one of these days they will call my bluff and go right ahead and cancel me. i know how to do the resets myself but i get fed up with going away to find all the programmes i have recorded have failed because the box froze. this has happened 3 times. not too much of a problem because most stuff is available on catch up but when you're away for more than a month some stuff is inevitably not available. very annoying when you are in the middle of a series. based on one of the answers, i might have to have a look at now tv. presumably they also do a box that you can record on?
Now TV does not provide a box with a recording facilities.

its a dilemma. i definitely want a box to record on, i have made further enquiries about virgin cable, we don't have it but they are working on us getting it!! may hang on for a while and see what happens.
You could buy a PVR such as a Humax which will record and also buy the Now box which is cheap enough, but yet another plug that will need a socket.

You won't be able to record the programmes from Now, though.
