how are they spending hours of your time?

Waiting for the shows to end to see summit else
Yes...many times.
I enjoy watching some of them. The Chase, Eggheads. Neither of which were on today.
They don't spend hours of my time....
I'm interested that some people are watching programmes that they don't want to see while waiting for programmes that they do want to see. Bizzare!
Love University Challenge - although I must admit that sometimes I don't even understand the question, never mind the answer!
maggie...UC and Only Connect are the only two "quizzes" that I watch...
"Waiting for the shows to end to see summit else"
may i suggest you turn on 5 minutes later?
Always learning and happy to do so, whether it's Quiz shows,Documentaries or Crosswords.
Yes, I love the quiz shows. they are entertaining and educational. Thats why I watch them.
I like some quiz shows, but the one that has replaced The Chase on ITV is dire. Terrible host, squawky contestants, silly questions...
When is Only Connect back on BBC?
I'm not keen on University Challenge for the exact same reason, Maggie. I like to try my hand at home, and be mentally "stretched", but not made to feel a hopeless ignoramus.
The only one that I watch ( if I'm around ) is Countdown .
Quiet satisfaction to get a seven letter word or to get the number in the numbers game
I love U/C and O/C but never watch any of the others. I used to like Eggheads, but not now with 'that woman', sorry I don't know her name, but she comes over (to me)as a show off. I have learnt a lot from the quizzes I do watch. I can't 'do' with the flashing lights and jingles on The Chase and don't like the way Pointless is so repetitive.
I can't bear Eggheads now. I think the woman you mean, hellywelly, is called Lisa. I had to stop watching because Daphne and CJ were unbearably smug. I also dislike the way Jeremy Vine pretends to be thick so an eggy can explain an answer to him.

Me too - but I have less than no interest in words or numbers games - I simply gaze in awe at how cute Rachel Riley is!!
i watch some of these shows, UC is one, though i am also left with a feeling of sheer ignorance. The chase is ok, but i rarely if ever watch eggheads as i find them mostly smug.
emmie - I am a regular UC viewer and I find myself less feeling ignorant for not knowing answers, as annoyed because they are clearly aimed only at people studying a maths or science subject at degree level, which is clearly not the demographic of the audience.
Am addicted to Pawn Stars c83. Chumlee beats Apollo for lol. Tramp brought in 75c medal he traded for $6k @ PS who sold it on for $30k. Rare russian antique history & better than stuffy Antiques Roadshow. Watch Swamp for gators bigger than most front rooms.
