I had to switch it off when she covered up her mother's death. Just too harrowing for me.

It's an incredibly powerful drama, as is to be expected from Jimmy McGovern.

I didn't initially grasp what she was up to and was shocked when the Priest saw through it straight away as if it were an everyday occurrence. So sad that people are so desperate.
Absolutely fuming that I forgot it was on and missed it ! Met a friend for lunch today and she said it was brilliantly acted.
A trip to iPlayer then ?
Don't do iplayer OG. I'll wait till it's repeated ....
Absolutely fantastic, so well acted, and terribly depressing - I needed a drink afterwards.
Will definitely tune in next week.
Sean Bean plays the priest so well and Anna Friel is brilliant. I found it incredibly moving. What appalling lives some people have. :-)

it will be on tomorrow somewhere
The despair was at times overwhelming, a powerful piece as ever from Jimmy.
That's the main reason I wanted to watch it, Anne Friel is a fabulous actress and she plays this type of role so very well.
Such a useful contribution PP, so err valid and bringing much value.......
Story in this morning's Mirror about a 55 year old woman in France who kept her dead mother's body in a freezer in the garden for 10 years in order to continue drawing her pension. The freezer wasn't connected to the mains in any way and the 80 year old dead woman was wrapped in a tarpaulin and concealed under clothes. So, it actually does happen in the real world.
