I know you don't want answers but I feel uncomfortable with the use of the word community to describe a group of people who share certain charecteristics- whether it be race, sexuality, religion, gender, ageamd why anyone be responsible for individuals who break the law. Most sex offenders are men but I don't know who from the male community should be responsible for helping. Who represents the white community in a town- let's say Rochdale for example.
Anyone who has information should help, and if there are barriers that stop people cooperating then those need to be broken down somehow- which may take time

Quite happy to read your post: "Answer is there none" was a cry of frustration, really, Fiction Factory.

I agree with your first point except that my reaction to the term "community" is more contempt than discomfort. Splitting the citizenry into communities each with its own "special needs" and its own representatives to argue for them (presumably in competition with rival groups) isn't my idea of what a free democratic society should be.

"...and if there are barriers that stop people cooperating...".

...or impediments which stop the professional services doing their job...then we ought to ask why.

Last night's program didn't offer an explanation. But then neither did any of the official enquiries.

Surprised there isn't a thread about The Betrayed Girls. The dramatic reconstruction of the Rochdale abuse attracted a lot of comment.

I would be interested to know why the abused girls kept going back to the paedophiles, they were living at home with parents, was it just for the booze and fags?
