I thought it was brilliant the way they tracked his car from Oxford to Peterborough, then CCTV, on eBay & mobile phone.

I wonder if they would have caught him without the technology?

It was riveting viewing, police work at its best. To start with a blank canvas, as one of the officers said, and track a man with no previous criminal record, was outstanding.

I doubt they would have caught him without the phone, what on earth possessed him to take it? Does he not watch police dramas where every phone can be traced? Had he not been caught and the First Edition had appeared on ebay shortly afterwards then they might have gaught him then.
