She is the daughter of Drew, an ex boyfriend of Billy's who turned up saying he was terminally ill and asked Billy to be her guardian. The parents of Drew are not allowing it now that he has died.

she is delightful, a new fresh face for Corrie, I thought she looked alot like the one playing Lara (one of the girls in the Nathan plot) but when I looked them both up, they don't have same surname.

It is not being homophobic.

If you had a granddaughter who wanted to live with two unknown males, wouldn't you also put a stop to it, being them gay or straight?

AOG the grandparents are homophobic, they have said that they didn't like that their son was gay.

Billy is not unknown to the grandparents. He was a long term partner of Summer's father and has discussed the homophobia they suffered from Drew's parents. They made it quite clear they didn't want homosexuals at his funeral.

Where is Summer's mother?

Summer's mother is a surrogate who has had no role in Summer's life. Her biological father is Charlie. Charlie and Drew arranged the surrogacy and Drew adopted her shortly after her birth.
Charlie did a runner leaving Summer with Drew who had been a single parent for some years before his death.

Agree Summer is a lovely little actress and her story is quite interesting if Drew wasn't her biological father then her grandparents aren't her biological grandparents so no doubt there will be other family members getting involved but let's hope Summer stays as sweet as she is.
