At first when it was advertised, I cringed thinking it wasn't going to suit him, but actually I think he's excellent, and generally the other actors & the writing is quality, I'm really enjoying it, and laughing out loud, which doesn't happen too often with new UK sitcoms.
Peri, My user name has nothing to do with "Bottom" I can not stand it infact, i think it is really silly. But I really am enjoying watching all about george its really good comedy!!
I stumbled upon this programme by accident and had to do a double take when he appeared. Is that...no, can't be...flamin' well is, you know. The first actor I saw when I turned over was Jack Sheppard and for a few horrible moments I thought I was watching Wycliffe!
Normally, the phrase "gentle comedy" has me heading for the hills without a backwards glance (As Time Goes By, anyone?) but I was pleasantly surprised by this and by Rik Mayall's "proper acting".
