Talbot, they're not really Mancunians, they're officially in Salford although most would say Little Hulton!!!! It gets very complicated round there, the folks of Worsley, Roe Green etc really don't like being in Salford!
I know this school, think I recognised at least one member of staff, should be interesting in the weeks to come.
I only saw a bit of the programme trt (I have recorded it) but the bit I saw was looking at the issue of new students from Syria etc so it's not surprising that that is the impression you got. But the series has only just started and I am pretty confident that we will see other groups in other programmes. Certainly a handful of such students don't get all the attention in schools. If it does come over that way here then maybe that would suggest Channel 4 chose to focus on that aspect, maybe for its own agenda, as they had six months of filming they could use. Maybe we need to wait and see.
// the rule’ against splitting infinitives isn’t followed as strictly today as it used to be. Nevertheless, some people do object very strongly to them.//
The Oxford dictionary obviously doesn't know who it is dealing with.
Retired teacher who just can't let go is it?
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Future episodes may change my mind but first impression is the pupils are far more respectful and the head more of a disciplinarian than the Essex and Yorkshire lot!
