Well I stuck with it but really struggled.
I kept getting confused with the different women in it.
The behaviour of his friend was not realistic and the ending!
Well I guess it's me and my age.

What different women? There was his wife, the lady who attended the education meetings and his mother.

How do you know his friends behaviour wasn't realistic? He was regressing due to having never had a childhood.

And...what was wrong with the ending?
I don't think it was you Caran, I couldn't get into it at all, I was looking forward to it but my concentration went after a short while
Switched about too much. Stayed with it because it was a one off drama . Didn't like the ending at all. It felt like they had just got a replacement child.I think that the original story was probably condensed too much .
I thought it was going to be about the missing child, an investigation etc etc. Stupid story and I was losing the will to live watching it.
Too depressed struggling with laptop to watch but have recorded it
Well, I really enjoyed it, great acting, and lovely ending, I guess everyone sees things in a different way.
I enjoyed it too...
It was quite strange in ways I thought it would focus more on the missing child but it was more of how they coped with her missing couldn't get to grasps with the friend and the politics but stuck with it good acting and different and was the little boy they kept seeing their future son mixture of paranormal as well and I thought the Prime Minister looked a bit like Tony Blair.
As Judge Judy would say, what a load of baloney. The trailer was so good, and as it was only a one off, I was really looking forward too it. Very confusing, bitty, going all over the place, before and after the child vanished. I know it was taken from a book so they couldn't change the story, but what about the police, CCTV etc. etc. And bringing in politics, oh it was all very odd, they copied Don't Look Back when he thought he saw his daughter in the yellow mac in Kent. Very disappointed.
We both really enjoyed it! Very thought provoking and amazing acting.
As ummm says, friend was regressing and probably schizsophrenic due to a problem with a missed childhood. His acting as a child was superb.

He was really good, Nellie, very believable.
And was it suicide? The PM or his adviser (whoever) said something about getting rid.
What I liked, ummm, that it left it open to various interpretations. The suicide theory is quite possible - I hadn't thought of that!
Was 'The Bad Joke Book' the child version of the report he had written to the Committee (when the PM walked out)? That would make sense and indicate a faked suicide. He had no reason to commit suicide.

nope..stayed with it about 30 mins....
