I don't know how recently Liz was in Corrie, but I'm sure Tony hasn't been on tv for decades. The FB generation are more likely to know of Liz than Tony.

I barely remember him.
Yes....he has been somewhat ignored....I suspect that being Tony Blair's father-in-law didn't help !

I can remember sitting watching "Til Death Us do Part" in the 60's, and my Dad laughing like a drain laughing like a drain !

By the way, wasn't Dandy Nichols wonderful !

he didnt do much after "till death do us part"
besides be Shree Blair's father - Liar Blair's father in law

In the late eighties I saw him in Manch in a play about Stalker
( John Stalker was completely screwed by his colleagues over the shoot-to-kill policy in Northern Ireland. )

we have moved on - and now you are likely to be shot if you carry a knife.... J Corbyn was asked if he had changed his stance on shoot-to-kill policy a few weeks ago and he looked as tho someone had drawn a knife on him)
He was also in those Confession films with Robin Askwith. That probably killed his tv career
He had big obits in the papers.
Narf & sarf thread innit!
As advised, Ms Dawn's profile as a major soap character actress for decades will inevitably eclipse Mr Booth's from the 1960's/ 1970's.

Mikey you are quite right, Dandy Nicholls' comic timing was a joy to behold.
As an actor he made a good 'activist', whatever that is.
Have seen a couple of mentions, one here - he was someone I found hard to warm to really.

I believe I read that he had a form of demetia for at least the past 10years ... that would have kept him away from any news stories I think
Question Author
I remember him in the comedies with Alf Garnet and confessions films with Robin Askwith, he died same day as Liz Dawn.
