was very let down by the ending was that to allow for a third series..son comes home all successful , husband reappears back on his feet etc how is a 15 year old with nothing able to survive ? in real life police would have probably dragged him back kicking and screaming..it was as if the writers did not know how to wrap it up..cop out really

I agree totally, terrible cop out and really poor ending.
I'm not sure it was a poor ending. I think the point was that both parents had been fighting each other and trying to get teh son on their side but the son decided he had had enough. He had spoken during thelast programme about leaving home.
I think the writers may decide he ends up in Scotland to stay with that woman he trusts. That will allow the story to continue.
he series was a bit intense and I think we need a break from it but I'm sure most of us will watch the next series

at 15.. he would have been snaffled and returned to his mother... and her serene Mummy's here thing at the end just was not credible...
I didn't watch the first series. I don't know how essential that was to the recent one.
I thought it was good. I cried at the end with Gemma on her doorstep hoping for her boy to come home, however implausible it might have been. I'll watch a next series if there is one.
At 15...no he won't.
