Little information is available about this artist, who worked and recorded with Jimmie Noone at the Apex Club, Chicago, in 1929-30. She is believed to have been working in the city's clubs during the years 1935-41, when she was a star singer in Decca's Race series. In the late 1940s she led an all-female band in the area, and in 1949-50 was the pianist with Big Bill Broonzy's Laughing Trio. She worked in and around Chicago up to 1959, and is then thought to have retired.
