Is anyone else tired of hearing this phrase before programmes or during news items? It's said before practically every programme. Are people really that easily upset these days?

It's important to remember that TV is watched by a huge range of people, in terms of age and sensitivity.

Do I need warning that something is potentially upsetting, and offensive? No, I can probably handle anything mainstrream TV can broadcast.

Would I like a warning if I am watching with my grandchildren, or my in-laws? Yes thanks, their sensitivity levels are different from mine.
yeah I stopped watching Guilty - or perhaps not guilty
when they had as part of the drama one kid trying to drown another

not amused by that one - and wouldnt have watched if I had been warned that a child might have butchered another one as a plot and entertainment in a drama

yeah didnt mind the Rhys and Liverpool programme
but that was more from the point of view of
'what happens when brainless 16 y o get guns'
They do at least give you the 'if you've been affected by' option at the end if you missed the warning, unless it was the flashing images one in which case you'll most likely just have to ride it out.
