Why on earth did that girl today put herself through that humiliation?
She wasn't even trying, in the cash builder she was cutting off Brad with her passes before he'd even got half the questions out.
I'm sure she could have got some of them if she had stopped to listen.
Makes me wonder why the put themselves through it, I would love to go on a game show as I'm always the one shouting at the TV and regularly get up to top questions on Millionaire but I know if I was actual on the TV I would go to pieces and make a complete fool of myself.
This won't be a popular answer and may get pulled, but she was one of those people who believe their disability gives them the right to be rude. I thought Bradley, her team-mates and the Chaser did really well not to tell her to grow up.
She probably 'put herself through it' because she has always been told how good she is and how, disappointing though her results have been, she is 'better than that'. The cult of unadulterated praise in schools and life has led to unrealistic expectations. :( She'll only think she was very unlucky in the questions she got.
I know! I was shaking my head thinking 'Just listen to the question!' I think she was hoping to benefit from the others. No matter what she'd got in the cash builder she'd have gone for the low offer. I'm glad she didn't get to the final.
I think people reckon answering questions on a TV quiz show is as easy as answering them when watching at home - I can assure them it's not. I've seen several people go to pieces when the red light comes on and they realize it's actually happening.
I think, as people have said, it's easy from your own sofa, much harder in the studio when it's all real and you finish up being a rabbit in headlights.
I don't knock quiz show contestants but today's show had me wondering if she had some sort of episode that made her go a little crazy for a short while.
It really was extraordinary.
I didn't see it, but it does sound as though the contestant panicked and interrupted without thinking first. Once that mind-set kicks in, it's almost impossible to regain control in time.
I've just watched her cash builder round from Talbot's link - what a farce! I don't know why the show's producers didn't toss her out and call in someone from the subs bench.
I havent seen it but I have immense sympathy for her on the basis of what has been said. When I was 17 I represented my college on a radio quiz show. Embarrassing doesnt even get close. My brain just decided to go into fart mode and refused to respond sensibly to anything. OK so now I'm a bit more able to deal with questions fired at me quickly but even so, I do sympathise. It's very very easy sitting at home answering stuff. Get a mike in front of you and a bit of an audience and you can very easily swap your brain for a piece of jelly.
