Poltergeist At It Again!

Did shopping for raffle prizes for U3A. Got the receipt out of my purse. Put it on coffee table in front of me. Turned my head to pick up a pen and the receipt had vanished. We have searched everywhere but no trace.
This is happening too often to be comfortable with.

Was your OH tidying up at the time, and put it in a pile with other stuff, or in the bin?

If you're sure you can't find it, ask St Anthony (the patron saint of lost things - I'm sure you've heard of him ;) ) to help you.

Forget about it, go to bed, see what happens in the morning.

He denied all knowledge. He had thrown his receipts in the bin. I checked them all just in case. His were all ok.

When you look for it again and you put your specs on, make sure you havent got a pair of specs on already ....

We have a four story house including the cellars, and even when it's just us in the house on the very top floor the lights get turned on, sometimes the taps and occasionally sounds like someone is having a dance up there. We also have things moved to the top of the flight of stairs from the ground floor, always something weird, always something that makes no sense and always something that's gone missing months earlier. I can't really find a rational explanation for it, but neither are we jumping on the poltergeist theory, we're kind of open minded about it and fairly relaxed now, having frisked the whole house in a massive terrified freak the first few times.It's only been quite a recent thing in the last few months too, so wondering why that is before that the house was very still.
