It's a feature of modern audiences that the 'whoop' is obligatory for all occasions, which is seriously trying. Alongside that is random cheering, often issued when the audience have absolutely no idea if what they are cheering for deserves it or not - as in Strictly, Dancing On Ice, and so on.

No ... thankfully the crowd at Old Trafford is too noisy to hear Ant & Dec.
Totally agree. Hopefully it will quietly die a death once the studio is demolished soon.

I love it and nothing is forced in my opinion.
It's popular and the ratings are good - would be a foolish business move to change that.

If those facts change then maybe they'll rethink.

It's the same with X Factor and such like.
Are they merely reflecting the continuing drop in public intelligence or setting an example to follow ?

Probably both - unfortunately!
Why are you knocking this show .?Look at all the prizes and surprises members of the audience and others can get . I am not a prude but it's always a nice clean and no swearing show just a shame Ant was having problems let's hope he gets himself sorted . I would not mind a place on the plane and I bet you wouldn't say no .
Hi wendilla,
It is all good clean fun. I did wonder about Ant, how someone can present to the public so 'up'... with all he's gone through.
Well said wendilla.

Speaking personally, I'm not, I don't watch it.

My complaint is with standard studio audiences who whoop and cheer through everything, it's annoying.

Credit to the guy - it's professionalism.

No matter what is going on, you put your smile on, go out there, do your job, and then come back and cry in private.
Yes Andy, how hard is that. I'd hate to be under that pressure, showbiz eh.
“No matter what is going on, you put your smile on, go out there, do your job, and then come back and cry in private.”

It’s a lot easier to do that when you’ve tens of millions in the bank and a great career then when you live in a hovel with an empty fridge and no future prospects.

No it's not.

If things get bad enough, external advantages such as material wealth absolutely cease to have any impact on what is going on - mental illness is a great leveller.
Looking at the recent headlines.. he seemed hyper to me on the Saturday show.
Obviously, there's too much drinking on set.
“mental illness is a great leveller.”

He now has a mental illness? No doubt this will be used as part of his defence.

It seems that many bandy about that sentence “suffering from a mental illness”

When sometimes it’s just the affect from feeling down or a chemical imbalance which we ALL suffer from at some point only thing is that mental illness is harder to diagnose then a physical illness so if you say the right things to your doctor then you can be diagnosed with a mental illness.

I think your perception of both mental illness, and the professionals who diagnose and treat it, are seriously simplistic.

If you think the average person can fool their GP into thinking they have a mental illness when they are faking it, then I think you overestimate the average person, and underestimate the average family doctor.

Can it be done? Yes of course it can, but not as easily or as often as you appear to imply.
