I loved Gerald Durell’s books - read them all years ago. So entertaining and knowledgeable.
Gave up watching after the first series. With the exception of young Gerald himself, the rest of his family come across as vain, selfish, louts.
The English abroad at their worst.
Book good..telly..forget it..
Yes, love it! What a lifestyle.
Very good, but then anything with Keeley Hawes in will be good. She doesn't do rubbish.
Morning waterman, off out the door, have a great day!

Im still watching it but sometimes I find the storylines a bit odd.

Loved the books, watched the first series and then decided enough liberties had been taken. I'll stick to the books.
I gave up in the middle of the last series. Just didn't like the characters, I felt that the actors playing them were too old.
i loved the books, the series not so much, i'll dip in and out if there is nothing else on, but i don't make a point of watching it
These ITV series are not a television version of the books...it clearly says "based on"....so you wouldn't expect too many similarites to the books- well, I wouldn't.
