I am quite happy with gay contestants and judges, but I have always watched ballroom dancing between a man and a woman and would like it to stay that way. Very sweeping generalisation to assume 'all older people are gay-averse'. What many older people respect is tradition. If in the competitive world of ballroom they introduced same sex couples, then the format might have to change.
I keep explaining this.....same gender ballroom dancing is judged differently from mixed gender. The rules and expectations are different, chiefly in that the dancers must swap between leading and following and lifting and being lifted. Go and have a look on youtube. You can’t mix the disciplines because they are different.
